Santosh R. Ghimire (Ph.D., Cert. in Sustainability, M. ASCE, M. AAAS) is the Founder President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Sustainability and Life Cycle Consultant (GSLC Consultant) LLC. Dr. Ghimire is currently conducting a research project focused on sustainability of stormwater management practices, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA), and Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCCA) sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Contract Award. Dr. Ghimire has taught Pipe Hydraulics course part-time at the University of Georgia and civil and environmental engineering courses including Engineering Fundamentals and 24 laboratory sections of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection System Design, Water Resources Engineering, and introductory Physics at the Michigan Technological University. He earned a Ph.D. and M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering and an interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Sustainability from Michigan Technological University, USA. Dr. Ghimire has over 15 years of professional experience including the doctoral and postdoctoral research and teaching, and humanitarian work experience. He recently completed the five years of Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education or ORISE postdoctoral Fellowship at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. His research interests include eco-efficiency, sustainability, life cycle assessment, life cycle cost assessment, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, municipal water distribution system, rainwater harvesting green infrastructure, stormwater low-impact development (LID), sediment scour, water-energy-food nexus and intellectual collaboration for global sustainability. He has contributed to over 45 scholarly publications including peer-reviewed articles, conference presentations, and technical reports. He served as president to the Northeast Georgia Branch of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and currently serves as a member of the Environmental and Water Resources Systems Committee of ASCE, and as reviewer of 10 journals.
